The Landscaping Supervisor plans and schedules the resources for all landscape jobs, ensuring that projects are inspected after completion and within the prescribed timeframe.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations across all site locations, managing property-related vendor contracts, including annual evaluations and budget planning.
  • Ensure all work practices and procedures are conducted safely, adhering to daily operational plans and promoting a hazard-free environment.
  • Perform groundskeeping duties including lawn mowing (manual or powered), edging, trimming of shrubs, and general landscape maintenance around sidewalks, walls, and flowerbeds.
  • Apply weed control products and fertilizers safely and effectively, in accordance with appropriate guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on effective communication, conflict resolution, and essential job skills to ensure a productive work environment.
  • Monitor and verify completion of daily quality service checks to maintain high standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track and document employee performance, including attendance, punctuality, behavior, and overall job progress.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities over the Landscaping team. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

Leadership & Team Management

  • Proven experience leading and supervising crews, including task delegation and schedule coordination.
  • Strong skills in team motivation, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ability to train new employees on safety procedures, operational techniques, and company standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field.
  • Practical knowledge of:
    • Plant care, cultivation, and seasonal maintenance practices
    • Irrigation system operation and basic troubleshooting
    • Landscape equipment operation, maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Strong independent problem-solving abilities with flexibility and creativity in approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in working with rehabilitation clients, team members, and the public.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted Texas driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with various types of lawn care and landscaping equipment.
  • Willingness to work weekends or irregular hours to meet project demands.
  • Ability to support bidding processes and project estimating efforts.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Experience interacting with clients, property managers, and stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Skilled in providing service quotes, project updates, and handling feedback or change requests effectively.
  • Committed to delivering excellent customer service with clear and respectful communication.

Project & Budget Management

  • Assist Project Manager in estimating costs and managing project budgets.
  • Collaborate in planning and executing landscaping projects from start to finish.
  • Track materials, labor, and timelines accurately, including proper tagging of all equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outside and adjust to changing temperatures.  
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
  • Frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. 
  • The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 Preferred Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED (minimum)
  • Certifications (optional but valuable):
    • Certified Landscape Technician (CLT)
    • Pesticide Applicator License
    • OSHA 10/30 Certification
