Location: West Sacramento, California 

Salary: $73,300-$95,100 per year/DOE

Position Overview: The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture beverages. The Production Supervisor develops methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways and determine whether overtime is needed for certain projects. The Production Supervisor assists in reducing waste while also increasing productivity and employee satisfaction.  

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safely as possible at all times. 
  • Ensures Production Plan is communicated to workers and assigns work accordingly.
  • Ensures all staffing requirements are monitored, and all job expectations are communicated and met.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises of job results, as well as mentors, counsels, and disciplines employees as needed.  
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.  
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, ensure specifications are met, observing control points and equipment. Ensures Basic Equipment Care (BEC), Changeover, Pre/post startup and all standard reporting checks are completed and reviewed.
  • Daily shift report
  • Hourly equipment performance recording
  • Hourly downtime recording
  • Hourly product and packaging yields
  • Monitors personnel and resources throughout the production area to minimize waste.  
  • Implements cost reductions, and monitors yield loss.
  • Assist downtime analysis and RCA solutions.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of safety procedures, equipment, and resources. 
  • Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures.  
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related task as needed.  
  • Material package verification of each line
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. 
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to include standard changeover settings, filler speeds, and all centerlines of each machine.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. 
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and quality of product. 
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or work crew. 
  • Analyzes and resolves work concerns and assists workers in solving work problems. 
  • Assists employees in completion of job duties when needed. 
  • Regular and punctual attendance. Maintains a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, coworkers, and management. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.  
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Environment follows seasonal outside temperatures, IE hot in the summer and colder in the winter.
