Box Maker Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for assembling, cutting, and preparing cardboard or wooden boxes for packaging and shipping.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- By machinery or by hand machinery measure, fold, and secure box materials according to specifications.
- Maintaining and cleaning box making equipment
- Ensuring the quality of the finished boxes.
- Removing jammed boxes as needed
- Inspecting finished boxes for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards
- Required management of box materials and supplies.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
- Adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines
- Additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Relevant Work Experience
- Prior warehouse experience a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Reach above shoulder level and bend down to floor level.
- Ability to use hands and tools effectively to assemble boxes
- Stand for 8 – 10 hours per day.
- Able to tolerate hot/cold conditions in the Distribution Center.
