Program Overview
Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings. We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Transportation Supervisor oversees the safe and efficient transportation of youth receiving psychiatric treatment
services. This role is responsible for coordinating and supervising transport staff, scheduling, vehicle maintenance,
speed limit adherence, compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring trauma-informed and therapeutic
approaches during all transports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Supervise daily transportation operations, including routing, staffing, and vehicle coordination.
- Ensure all transports (medical appointments, court appearances, family visits, etc.) are conducted safely and according to program guidelines.
- Provide documentation of all missed appointments or unusual events to Management Team.
- Train, support, and evaluate transportation staff in collaborative Problem Solving, behavior Management, and defensive driving techniques.
- Develop transportation protocols aligned with the safety and therapeutic needs of youth in care.
- Maintain records of all transports, incidents, vehicle inspections, and staff training, driver license expiration dates.
- Collaborate with clinical and residential teams to ensure individualized and shuttle transport plans are implemented as needed.
- Ensure all vehicles are in compliance with all local, state, federal regulations and ensure that regular inspections and are conducted before and after each transport.
- Ensure the safety of the vehicles and van keys.
- Review van safety sheets and speeding concerns and provide a weekly report.
- Respond to and investigate transportation-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor staff adherence to confidentiality, safety procedures, and program policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for transportation issues during working hours and participate in the on-call customer service issues pertaining to transportation.
Qualifications:
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years’ experience in similar setting required
Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field preferred.
