Now Hiring – Ultrasound Technologist 

Location: Bloomfield, CT - (673 Cottage Grove Rd. Bloomfield, CT  06002)

Type: Full-time 

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Must accurately interpret a physician’s instructions, routine procedural protocols, prepare and operate the ultrasound equipment, associated software and equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. 
  • Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow. 
  • Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs. 
  • Maintain all aspects of the ultrasound imaging area including technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance. 
  • Actively participate and maintain detailed follow up of BIRADS category 0 mammographic records to ensure compliance with ACR requirements. 
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and safety. 
  • Provide imaging support for Varicose Vein Treatment procedures, ensuring sterile technique and imaging guidance as directed by the radiologist. 
  • Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules). 
  • Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.

Requirements

  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), certification required within 12 months. Certifications required: Abdomen, OB-GYN, Breast, Vascular. 
  • Two years Ultrasound experience. 
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
