POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The HR Trainer works under the direction of the FMYNE Training & Development Manager and plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality training programs to team members across various departments and enterprises, with a focus on general and casino-related topics. They assist in developing training initiatives that align with organizational goals and contribute to the success of Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Enterprises (FMYNE). Additionally, the Trainer performs administrative tasks, conducts new hire orientation, and facilitates customer service training to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare and deliver training classes covering various general and casino-related topics clearly and understandably. 
  • Utilize effective instructional techniques and materials to engage participants and facilitate learning. 
  • Adapt training content to meet team members' diverse learning styles and needs. 
  • Collaborate with the Training and Development Manager to develop training programs that support the objectives of the casino resort and other FMYN enterprises. 
  • Assists in developing training materials, presentations, and resources to enhance the effectiveness of training initiatives. 
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping, to ensure accurate training activities and participation information documentation. 
  • Maintain training records and reports to track training programs' attendance, completion, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct new hire orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, procedures, and culture. 
  • Provide information on employee benefits, workplace expectations, and available resources to support employee integration and success. 
  • Facilitate customer service training sessions to enhance team members’ communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer-focused mindset, utilizing the We-Ko-Pa Way initiative. 
  • Incorporate real-life scenarios and interactive exercises to reinforce key concepts and skills. 
  • Assists in developing training classes in various learning formats and at various times day & night. 
  • Must obtain certification and/or demonstrate proficiency in food handler training, Arizona Title IV Liquor Law, Bank Secrecy Act-Title 31, Sexual Harassment-Title VII, OSHA, GHS-Hazard Communication, and other compliance and regulatory topics that are taught through the year.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent written and computer skills, including data entry and report-building abilities.
  • Must have excellent critical and creative thinking skills.  
  • Must have excellent classroom, organizational, and scheduling abilities.  
  • Must be able to interact with and mediate training with diverse employees and enterprise departments.
  • Performs other related duties as required.  
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds and push or pull 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (Including an extensive background check)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.   
  • Must be 21 or older.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Education, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in training delivery and program development or related field. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience in food handler training, Arizona Title IV Liquor Law, Bank Secrecy Act-Title 31, Sexual Harassment-Title VII, OSHA, GHS-Hazard Communication, and other compliance and regulatory topics preferred.
  • Experience in managing LMS/learning database systems.
  • Knowledge of casino operations and relevant regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality training experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes.  To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
