- Growth & Performance: Taking ownership of preserving transaction rates and pet count, contributing to the overall success of the region.
- Mentorship & Support: Providing guidance and support to new graduate veterinarians, helping them thrive in their careers.

Key Responsibilities
- Practice alongside our DVMs, help with cases and provide mentorship.

- Review cases when requested by Regional Director (RD), DVM, or Practice Manager (PM).
- Monitor flow of hospitals, appointments, and client satisfaction.
- Support area hospitals by filling urgent needed shifts.
- Provide support and review for negative case outcomes.
- Monitor Vetshare App for content and engagement.
- Analyze weekly trends with PM and provide explanation for standard Key Performance Indicators, such as favorable/unfavorable results in revenue, visits, revenue per day, revenue per doctor day, visits per day, visits per doctor day, etc.
- Collaborate with Regional Director(s) and Vice President of Medicine to handle any issues identified and or recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor DEA logbooks for accuracy.
- Review current projects and provide updates as needed.
- Collaborate with Regional Director with operational issues or possible areas for improvement.
- Review DVM numbers to identify problems and trends.
- Encourage healthy communication between DVMs and guide DVM protocols and ideas.
- Perform quarterly inspections of all practices in designated region.
- Host regional DVM events.
- Hold licenses and permits needed to operate hospitals in region if needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
- Hold Veterinary License in State(s) of all hospitals being overseen.
- Active license and DEA in good standing to practice in the state(s) in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate.
- The ability to analyze complex information and make quality decisions that are respectful of the stakeholders involved.
- The ability to work with, lead, and motivate people of various personality types.
- Strong time management skills.
- The ability to conduct oneself in a manner befitting the importance of the position of Veterinarian.
- The ability to represent American Veterinary Group and the practice to the profession and community in a positive manner.
- Clinical practice experience of 5+ years, preferred leadership experience.
- Ability for high level of travel and large amounts of time away from home (company paid).
- Possess a combination of veterinary industry, financial acumen, and business knowledge, or the capacity to learn all of these necessary components.
