Compensation: The Diesel Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $33.00 and $44.00. The position may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit. Additionally this position may also pay a retention bonus of $1.75 per every booked hour.
As a Diesel Technician, you must display thorough and proven knowledge of diesel and gas engine repair. You must also have a strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail. It will also be a vital part of your role as a Diesel and Heavy line Technician to provide outstanding customer service and maintain effective working relationships with customers, supervisors and co-workers.
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- 2+ years of Heavy Line and Diesel experience, preferred
- Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, jeep Certified Technician and Diesel Certified is Preferred
- Experience with gas and diesel engines
- ASE Certification preferred
- A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
- Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
