Part-Time Testing Center Specialist

Position Reports to Director of Academic Support

Hourly Rate: $17.87 (Support Staff Level 11)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: 25 Hours per Week - (Mon-Fri- Hours may vary)

Basic Purpose

The Testing Center Specialist is an integral member of the Academic Support team, with a primary role of providing support for students in the area of placement and course testing by scheduling, administering, and proctoring tests. Additional testing services responsibilities include data entry of testing exemptions. The Part Time Testing Center Specialist will also provide back-up support to Library and Tutorial Services front line services, as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support students and faculty with their testing needs. Make appointments for testing, administer and proctor tests and facilitate the return of tests to faculty ensuring strict confidentiality. Complete and maintain proctor trainings and certifications.
  • Process transcripts for placement and testing exemptions.
  • Assist with Library circulation desk and Tutorial Services front-line services as needed.
 
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required with 2 years work related experience required OR
  • Associate’s degree may be preferred
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of appointment scheduling software and data processing
  • Customer service experience
