Position Duties

The Loudoun County Department of General Services (DGS) is currently seeking a mid-level administrative professional to support our main office’s operations in Leesburg. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple complex administrative tasks in a fast-paced office environment and will possess the ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. The successful candidate must also have a professional phone demeanor, strong written communication skills, and be detail oriented. This position requires prior experience with standard office equipment such as printers, copiers, fax machines, and desktop scanners.

Additional administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assists with purchasing activities.
• Coordinates meetings.
• Orders office supplies and equipment for the department.
• Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, citizens, and other visitors. Refers customers to appropriate staff.
• Directs incoming calls from the department’s main line.
• Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
• Manages front counter services.
• Processes credit card payments for monthly/quarterly expenses and maintains credit card records.
• Conducts credit card reconciliations in accordance with established policies.
• Performs audits of all credit card purchases and manages the PCard inventory.
• Coordinates storage and records retrieval.
• Provides administrative support for special projects as needed.
• Performs other administrative duties as assigned.


Salary commensurate with experience.







Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV record background checks.

Valid driver's license and good driving record are required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).

Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Regular office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm but may change as needed. This position is eligible for partial telework one (1) day per week in accordance with County and Department policies.
