Our resort-style community features 300 Independent Living residences, a 33-bed Skilled Nursing Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and a 34-bed Memory Support Unit.

We are seeking compassionate, positive, and highly skilled Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Registered Medication Aides (RMAs) to join our team in Assisted Living and Memory Support. Both part-time and full-time positions are available. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our residents' well-being and quality of life by providing personalized care in accordance with each resident’s individual care plan. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in senior living settings - such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory support - and a strong commitment to serving the elderly with dignity and compassion.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct care and assistance to residents following individualized resident care plans.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and weights; assist with medications and treatments under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
  • Ensure safe lifting, transferring, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and approved equipment (e.g., gait belts, mechanical lifts).
  • Promote a safe, restraint-free environment and implement fall prevention strategies.
  • Encourage and assist residents in participating in social and recreational activities.
  • Provide transportation support to and from on-site and off-site appointments and activities.
  • Assist with resident admissions and discharges as needed.
  • Document daily care and promptly report any changes in residents' conditions.
  • Collaborate with and support other departments within Health Services when required. 

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Must have a current Registered Medication Aide (RMA) certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification with a valid card.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in medical terminology, medical records management, and handling medical supplies and equipment.
  • Exhibit a positive, engaging attitude with a genuine commitment to working successfully with elderly and/or disabled individuals.
  • Previous experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately follow both written and verbal instructions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively with colleagues, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
  • A heartfelt passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults within a supportive CCRC community.
  • A current COVID-19 vaccine is preferred in support of our commitment to resident and staff well-being.
  • Physically capable of exerting at least 50 pounds of force to assist residents with mobility (e.g., transferring in/out of wheelchairs or beds) and able to perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, maintaining balance, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
