Santa Clara Unified School District serves over 15,000 TK-12 students, in addition to students in Preschool through Adult School. Neighborhoods in the Cities of Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Cupertino comprise the District's 56 square-mile area. Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a Clerical Assistant test and a typing test. Testing will be scheduled once the hiring manager screens the applications. Practice tests are available at www.codesp.com. Click on “Links” at the top of the page; click on “Test Taking Practice,” then select the test(s) that pertain to the position you’re applying for.
Candidate must be able to type 45 words per minute and have the capacity to deal effectively in a school office environment with constant interruptions and occasional contact with angry or dissatisfied individuals.
Qualifications: Candidate must be a high school graduate with at least one year of clerical experience in a school environment involving the use of a computer terminal. Candidate must be able to apply and explain methods, procedures, policies and terminology used in student attendance accounting, maintain manual and computerized student files, and meet schedules and time lines. Candidate must have knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as record keeping techniques, and appropriate telephone techniques and etiquette. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation are essential.
