About the Department
Program Support – Middle School Track & Cross Country
Cedar Hills Recreation Center (CHRC) is hiring a dedicated and organized Program Support to lead THPRD’s Middle School Cross Country and Track & Field programs for 10 Beaverton middle schools. This role is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and instruction of day-to-day activities during the fall Cross Country and spring Track & Field seasons. It also provides lead direction to assigned part-time staff and volunteers.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate has a passion for Cross Country, Track & Field, and youth athletics, strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal), and a team-oriented mindset. This position also supports the center’s Elementary Track program and other sports and recreation activities throughout the year, including assistance with special events and facility operations.
Hours
This is a year-round position with a typical schedule of 29 hours per week. Availability is required on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Attendance at all scheduled Track & Field and Cross-Country meets is mandatory, which includes later evening hours on meet days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and occasional weekend hours. Staff must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Part-time employees may work fewer than 1,560 hours per year.
Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications required
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
- Experience in Cross Country and Track required
- Preferred: Meet management or experience with FAT timing equipment
- Preferred: Bilingual skills

Classification Status
THPRD is hiring for a role with hours that may vary based on program needs.
- Part-Time Variable (PT): Fewer than 20 hours per week and no more than 1,560 hours annually
- Part-Time Benefits (PTB) Eligible: 20–29 hours per week year-round with benefits eligibility
