About Krea
At Krea, we’re dedicated to making AI intuitive and controllable for creatives. Our mission is to build tools that empower human creativity, not replace it. We believe AI is a new medium that lets us express ourselves across text, images, video, sound, and 3D—and we’re building better, smarter, more controllable tools to harness it.
We’re backed by Bain Capital Ventures, a16z, Abstract Ventures, Pebblebed and others. If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI and enabling human creativity, we’d love to hear from you.
The role
We’re looking for a zero-to-one Operations generalist to own the systems that keep Krea moving—everything from GPU/cloud negotiations and third-party API relationships to hiring pipelines, office management, and finance support. You’ll work directly with the founders and partner closely with engineering, research, and go-to-market to make sure the company runs smoothly and scales sensibly.
Title/level flexible (Operations Lead / Business Operations Manager / Head of Operations), depending on experience.
What you’ll do
Vendor, Infra & Partnerships
Lead negotiations with GPU/cloud providers and manage credits, capacity, pricing, and SLAs.
Own relationships with third-party API providers (LLMs, storage, auth, analytics, etc.): onboarding, usage monitoring, incident response, and renewals.
Drive procurement for software, tools, and services; standardize vendor evaluation and approvals.
People & Recruiting Ops
Build and improve the hiring pipeline: ATS hygiene, interview loops, scorecards, candidate comms, and scheduling.
Own onboarding/offboarding, equipment provisioning, and lightweight HRIS hygiene (policies, docs, training).
Finance & Admin
Partner on budgeting/forecasting, unit economics, and cost controls (cloud/GPU/API spend).
Coordinate payables/receivables, vendor invoices, and expense policies; keep docs tidy for monthly/quarterly closes.
Help prepare materials for board updates and audits.
Process & Program Management
Stand up lightweight company operating cadence: OKRs, weekly reviews, cross-team rituals, and dashboards.
Document and continuously improve core workflows (security reviews, deal desk, launch checklists, incident post-mortems).
Risk, Legal & Compliance
Coordinate NDAs/MSAs/DPAs with counsel; track renewals and obligations.
Drive vendor risk assessments and shepherd compliance projects (e.g., SOC 2 readiness, privacy/security questionnaires).
Office, IT & Events
Run our in-person SF office: space, supplies, IT fleet, snacks/lunch, facilities, vendors.
Plan travel, team events, and offsites end-to-end.
Customer/GTM Enablement (as needed)
Support enterprise deals with security/privacy responses and vendor onboarding portals.
Help instrument basic analytics and reporting to keep teams aligned on goals and outcomes.
If you see an operational gap at Krea, you’ll own it, fix it, and make it durable.
Example Tacit Skills We’re Looking For
High agency & ownership: You spot messy, high-leverage problems, propose a plan, execute fast, and close the loop with clear reporting—without hand-holding.
Zero-to-one systems builder: You stand up simple, durable processes (SOPs, checklists, Airtable/Notion/Zapier automations) and iterate based on data.
Vendor & infra savvy: You can compare GPU/API quotes, track usage vs. budget, push for credits/SLAs, and keep vendor records clean.
Numbers first: Comfortable modeling costs and scenarios in spreadsheets; you catch anomalies before they become surprises.
Crisp communication: Straightforward writing, tight docs, fast async updates; strong judgment on when to pull people in vs. unblock yourself.
We’re optimizing for output and judgment, not years of experience.
Example Ideal Candidate
You’ve been the first or only ops person (or played the role) at a small, fast startup—wearing many hats and making things work with limited resources.
Or, you’re a high-agency early-career builder (1–4 years) from consulting/IB/rev-ops/PMO who wants to move from slideware to shipping real systems.
Or, you’ve led zero-to-one programs in a student org, lab, or small company—owning budgets, vendors, recruiting, events, and documentation end-to-end.
