Position Available: Commencing with the 2025-2026 school year. The official start date is August 26, 2025.
Hours: School-year position, 181 days with some additional days in the summer. 6.25 hours per work day in accordance with school schedule with an additional half hour unpaid for lunch.
Salary and Benefits: Salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Comprehensive benefits.
Description Summary: The Technology Assistant is a vital member of the technology team, providing support to all users in the building through maintenance and setup of classroom computers, laptops, mobile labs, computer labs, and the technology that supports and supplements them. The position is evaluated by both the Network Administrator and the school administration and meets regularly with them to plan and prioritize short range and long-range projects.
Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or its equivalent
Associates Degree or two years of higher education preferred OR at least two years of previous work experience in the technology field.
Previous work experience with computers and related peripherals
Working knowledge of various vendor switches, printers, copiers, fax machines, laptops, desktops and tablets
Work experience in system administration and experience with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Chrome OS, OSX), virtualization technologies and file storage administration a plus
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and be able to train others as needed
Good organizational, time-management, verbal and written skills
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Strong documentation skills and sense of responsibility
Ability to multi-task and switch priorities as needed in an educational environment
Ability to work effectively and courteously at all times with administrators, teachers, co-workers and students
Physical requirements – lift up to 50 lbs. to install related equipment and move mobile laptop carts
Overall Job Duties:
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for all staff and students
Repair and maintain computer equipment and related peripherals as required
Respond to technical requests made through the Help Desk
Work closely with the district network administrator
Other duties as assigned
