Highlander Charter Elementary is a small, community-driven urban charter school committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all students. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher to support our youngest learners with disabilities in inclusive and more restrictive settings. The ECSE teacher will provide individualized instruction and services to caseload from PreK - 2nd grade children with special needs. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families to create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the growth of each child across developmental domains. Key Responsibilities * Deliver direct special education services in alignment with students’ IEPs in inclusive and/or special education classrooms. * Develop and implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to support academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional skill growth. * Write and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations, including data collection and progress monitoring. * Provide social emotional support and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed. * Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers (OT, PT, SLP, etc.) to ensure integrated support. * Actively engage and communicate with families about student progress, services, and developmental milestones. * Use culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices that reflect the strengths and needs of our diverse school community. * Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports in a timely manner. * Participate in ongoing professional development and school-based initiatives. * Contribute to the school community by supporting school-wide events and initiatives.
