Other Conditions: Fall 2025, Part-time, for placement in lecturer candidate pool, non-tenurial, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Day, evening, or Saturday offerings, on- and off-campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
- Maintain at least one office hour per week for each course taught.
- Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives, prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Work under supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
- Student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness are required.
- Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential.
- Complete instructional assignments which may involve day, evening, early morning, weekend, outreach (such as Early College), and/or distance education classes.
- Other duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health or Public Health Science; OR,
- Master’s degree in Epidemiology; OR,
- Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management; OR,
- Bachelor’s (Public Health) and Master’s degree in related field; OR,
- Master’s degree in Nursing and 3 years public or community health experience; OR,
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) and 3 years public or community health experience; OR,
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and 3 years public or community health experience
If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.

- Evidence of ability to teach effectively and to direct group discussions
- Experience mentoring students at the college/university level
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working in multicultural and disparate settings
- Poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others
- Established record of effective teaching at the community college level through classroom and/or distance education modalities
- Experience applying innovative teaching techniques in courses
- Familiarity with public health applied learning experiences
- A willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
