JOB SUMMARY
As a Global Logistics Leader, you'll be responsible for the long-range strategic planning and tactical execution of inbound and outbound logistics in support of cross-functional operations such as procurement, store operations, warehousing and transportation operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Logistics:
- Leads a team of analysts focused on cost optimization and business efficiencies for import shipments from around the world
- Leads a team of planners focused on moving freight globally at the most cost effective and efficient manner.
- Partners cross-functionally with business units, global sourcing, and analytics groups to align and drive mutual shared strategic visions; represents the team in cross-functional business planning meetings.
- Presents to Senior Leadership on macro-level global impacts and department results.
- Responsible for both short- and long-term strategic planning of H-E-B's global logistics network including the planning and sourcing of new strategic consolidation and deconsolidation facilities across the globe.
- Oversees and manages relationship with existing consolidation warehouses.
- Has accountability for best-in-class use of technology & software for H-E-B shipments including Origin Cargo Management, Transportation Management Software, Advanced Shipping Messages, EDI, etc.
- Uses Origin Cargo Management software to drive KPIs and SOPs to hold vendors accountable and deliver on time in full
- Drives reduction in costs by Analyzing Supply Chain efficiency, recommending lower cost alternatives of landed cost of good.
- Responsible for cause-and-effect analysis of changes to FOB ports, shipping terms, Incoterms, time value inventory, order and lead-time affect average.
- Liaison with procurement, sourcing, supply chain business leadership to ensure the 'end to end' process runs efficiency with global supply chain strategy. Evaluation of import supplier performance identifies gaps and implements process improvements.
- Leads cross-functional projects such as order management, centralized scheduling, inbound transportation for H-E-B, and third-party carriers, imports/exports, LTLs, and reusables.
- Responsible for overall planning and execution of capacity planning by facilitating weekly meetings with leadership from other areas impacted such as warehouse operations, forecast & replenishment and transportation.
- Evaluation of supplier performance (on-time performance, delays, packaging, warehouse configurations, revenue vs. cost, reliability, etc.) and carrier performance (on-time performance, delivery and pickup, cost and contract compliance). Host quarterly business reviews and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to create complex models to analyze the cost effectiveness of FOB origin, costs of Forecast / Replenishment, storage, domestic transportation vs. DDP pricing and communication.
- Responsible for managing bids, analyzing their financial and business impacts and making final recommendations for import/export contracts to be awarded.
- Responsible for the staffing, coaching, training and development of partners as well as succession planning.
- Responsible for creating a positive partner relations environment by providing expectations and responsibilities to Team Leaders/supervisors, provides feedback timely and consistently.
- Provides backup support to Director of Global Logistics on all inbound issues.
- Must be willing and able to travel internationally to Europe, Mexico, Central/South America and Asia.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
- 8-10 years of experience managing global logistics operations
- Extensive experience using origin cargo management software to drive KPIs and systematic process improvements
- Experience with strategic consolidation overseas and US deconsolidation
- Advanced knowledge and compliance in related areas: Federal Maritime Commission, US Customs & Border Protection, Department of Transportation, etc.
- BA/BS required, MBA preferred
