Description

The Maintenance Services Manager oversees the maintenance and repair for all Texas Pipe and Supply Family of Companies facilities, equipment and grounds. This includes planning, organizing, and directing maintenance staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is key to developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs and improving overall efficiency.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Managing (hiring, training, scheduling, assigning tasks, and performance management, etc.) maintenance staff, including technicians, mechanics, grounds maintenance, and administrative personnel while ensuring they have the necessary resources and support. 

  • Overseeing the upkeep of equipment, facilities, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency 

  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, and allocating resources effectively.  

  • Managing maintenance budgets, forecasting costs, controlling costs associated with maintenance operations, and ensuring efficient spending 

  • Negotiating and managing service contracts with vendors for equipment, parts, services, and related supplies.  

  • Overseeing the work of contractors and vendors engaged for specialized maintenance and repair services. 

  • Responding to emergency repairs, diagnosing problems, coordinating necessary repairs or replacements, resolving equipment breakdowns and other maintenance issues.  

  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.  

  • Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall efficiency.  

  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols related to equipment operation and hazardous materials while ensuring a safe working environment for maintenance staff and promoting safety awareness.  

Qualifications


Essential Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, engineering, contract management, construction technology or any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities  

  • Understanding of methods, practices, and equipment used in maintenance services and activities, such as HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, and other relevant trades. 

  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, including making recommendations and implementation  

  • Clear communication and active listening with all levels of workforce from industrial to executive level.  

  • Proven experience in Financial and Project Management with an emphasis on Continuous Improvement   

  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis 

  • 5-plus years in managing teams and vendors nationally across multiple locations with effective leadership, training, performance management, and conflict resolution 

  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and environmental compliance
