Job Summary: Contributes to the success of the Credit Union’s indirect lending program by assuring quality service and maintaining professional business relationships and regular contact with area dealerships in a selected territory designated by the credit union.
All job positions at 7 17 Credit Union may be assigned further duties with or without notice, verbally or in writing. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
Primary Duties:
- Make regular personal visits to dealerships in order to stay in contact with dealers and generate loan business consistent with the Credit Union’s goals.
- Solicit and sign up new dealers. Collect and analyze information to determine dealer eligibility.
- Ensure dealers have necessary tools, contracts, software, forms, reference materials and other items required to do business with the Credit Union. Work to resolve cases involving difficult or complex problems such as improperly completed legal forms, collection of reserve reimbursements, and servicing operations in general.
- Consistently strives to render the best possible service to members and dealers.
- Train dealers and implement new loan related products and services with dealerships.
- Keep appropriate Credit Union management and employees informed of relevant changes and developments in the automobile and related industries that might impact the Credit Union’s lending program.
- Ensure the protection of the Credit Union’s interest in matters of adequate documentation and adherence to Credit Union policy and applicable laws and regulations. Discuss performance related concerns with dealerships to strengthen the dealer relationship. If performance is not improved, notify dealership of removal from the program.
- Participate in monthly indirect lending reviews to provide feedback regarding application quality, portfolio performance and overall dealer profitability.
- Participate in community affairs to increase the Credit Union’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
- Resolve issues between dealer and 717 CU such as lien placement, backends, reserve disputes, closing documents, production as examples, but not inclusive.
- Address and resolve fraudulent loans including oversight of the buyback process.
Secondary Duties:
- Provide direction to support staff with regard to the duties listed above.
Confidentiality Requirements: Must keep members' transactions and other Credit Union business in strictest confidence.
Travel Demands: Must be able to travel. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and appropriate transportation for the position.
Qualifications
Prerequisite Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
Prerequisite Experience:
- Three to five years experience in sales or lending, preferably automobile sales or dealer finance and insurance.
- Verifiable track record of excellence in his/her field.
