We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented, full time RN who share our commitment to excellence and patient-centered service.

Pre-Op/PACU Nurse (RN) administers diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The PACU nurse will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from regional and local anesthesia. 

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, critical care, surgical procedures, anesthetic agents, aseptic techniques, and electronic health records. They should excel in assessment, communication, organization, IV therapy, and accurate documentation, while demonstrating sound judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

General Duties:

  1. Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery.
  2. Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
  3. Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
  4. Initiate IV’s and ensure patients are informed about procedure.
  5. Assess the patients’ post-operative condition.
  6. Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria.
  7. Log all findings in patient files.
  8. Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort.
  9. Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician.
  10. Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Education: RN degree; preferably BSN or MSN

Experience: Advanced knowledge in critical care practice of nursing. Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred.

Requirements:  Current: California RN license, CPR certification, BCLS and ACLS

This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and staff, as well as independently. Work is primarily in an operating room and PACU setting, with frequent exposure to infection risks and sharp instruments. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, moving equipment up to 50 lbs., and assisting with patient transfers.
