As a Production Supervisor (2nd shift), you will drive safety, quality, and productivity of production. Through process discipline and building engagement, you will lead the Production Area, ensuring a focus on safety, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
You will be located at PPG's West Chicago, IL plant (not right within downtown Chicago area) and will report to the Production Manager. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.
Hours will be 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday-Friday; with overtime and occasion weekends required.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved.
- Coordinatework schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity.
- Identifie problems related to the production process and provides production reports to assist with process improvement.
- Supervise a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by transactional or repetitive processes.
- Contribute to the development of processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years' experience in production, and previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with ERP systems is desired.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., to bend, and stand or walk for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.
