About the Department


Pitt Community College is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Work-Based Learning (WBL) Program Coordinator to help build strong, meaningful connections between education and employment. In this vital role, you’ll coordinate and oversee WBL programs that support student internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training experiences for both curriculum and non-curriculum students.

This position plays a key role in the Business and Workforce Solutions department, working collaboratively with faculty, students, employers, and community stakeholders to strengthen career pathways and ensure workforce alignment.

Position Duties

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and employer partners
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and support services for WBL students
  • Ensure compliance with NC State WBL guidelines, program policies, and documentation standards
  • Audit student records and faculty documentation for accuracy and credit eligibility
  • Develop faculty training and manage semester planning, including WBL calendars and Moodle shells
  • Maintain accurate state records, prepare FTE reports, and manage course section documentation in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office
  • Support employer engagement through career services, opportunity reviews, and WBL agreements
  • Oversee course substitutions, student lab placements, and internal WBL registrations
  • Prepare faculty compensation agreements and track end-of-semester payments
  • Support career pathway development and community engagement efforts in partnership with the Director of Apprenticeship & Work-Based Learning
  • Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts for WBL using digital and print media
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state policy changes and disseminate information accordingly

Other Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • At least two years of experience developing relationships with industry partners, working with a school system, community college, intermediary agency or advanced manufacturing industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in marketing, recruitment and use of social media tools
