Summary:
The Giving Director is a strategic and visionary fundraising professional who will lead all aspects of the organization’s philanthropic efforts. This leader will play a critical role in cultivating donor relationships, expanding our charitable base, and aligning fundraising strategies with the organization’s mission and growth goals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow individual and corporate giving
- Monitor annual fundraising goals, metrics, and performance indicators
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors
- Design and implement donor engagement plans, including events, communications, and recognition
- Oversee donor database management and ensure accurate gift tracking and reporting
- Lead major donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities
- Plan and execute capital campaigns and special fundraising initiatives as needed
- Partner with board members to expand the major gifts portfolio
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to develop compelling proposals and reports
- Collaborate with marketing, programs, and finance teams to ensure fundraising alignment across departments
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is a plus
- Passion for early childhood education and social impact
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive fundraising experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- Proven track record of securing major gifts and managing donor portfolios
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build authentic relationships with donors and stakeholders
- Experience with donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, etc.)
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute plans and measure results
- Leadership experience, including supervising staff or leading cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Must possess or obtain required state and federal background clearances
- Proper attendance is required. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work
- May require travel to other centers within the organization
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
- Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
- Lifting and carrying of children and/or objects up to 50 pound
