Hours: Full Time - Monday-Friday, 7:00/8:00AM-3:30/4:30PM (Start and end times may vary depending on schedule for the day. Requires flexibility.)

Position Summary
As an Operating Room Assistant at our Surgery Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive best care by helping to keep the OR running smoothly and efficiently. In this position, you will provide essential support to the surgical team, pull and stock supplies for upcoming procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing orthopedic procedures. You must be able to remain detail-oriented and organized in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support surgical case set-up by ensuring all needed supplies and equipment are readily available.
- Monitor and restock surgical supplies, ensuring availability during procedures and maintaining an organized and well-stocked operating room.
- Assist with checking in supplies upon shipment arrival.
- Notify appropriate team members of inventory needs.
- Maintain organization system of supplies so that any needed equipment is easily located.
- Assist team with cleaning and turning over surgical rooms.
- Perform basic patient care needs; such as holding extremities for preps and assisting with patient positioning.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to safety regulations.
- Adhere to strict infection control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of contamination and maintain a clean, hygienic environment.
- Properly dispose of all surgical waste and contaminated materials in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide clerical services for the department as necessary (i.e. maintaining clerical supplies, entering data, etc,)
- Stay updated with advancements in orthopedic surgery and related procedures, attending training sessions or workshops as required.

Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to remain calm and maintain a respectful demeanor in stressful situations.
Motor, Sensory, and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity required to operate modern office and surgical equipment.
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching required.
- Ability to manually maneuver adult patients.
- Normal or correctable range of hearing and eyesight.
