Position Title: AVP, Retail Sales & Development Officer 

Reports to: FVP, Retail Distribution Network

Summary:

The Retail Sales & Development Officer, in conjunction with branch leadership, is responsible for leading the effort to grow deposits, achieving retail sales goals, and enhancing the overall customer experience.  This individual will work with Retail Leadership on training, mentoring, and coaching at all levels to foster a solutions-based, customer-centric sales culture. The Retail Sales & Development Officer will be accountable for the achievement of all Retail sales goals and will function as a "number two" to the FVP of Retail.

This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with FVP, Retail and branch leadership to set and review sales goals 
  • Reviews goals monthly with FVP, Retail and branch leadership
  • Strategizes with Retail Leadership on best practices and methods to drive sales in the department with managers having a dotted-line to the Retail Sales Development Officer with regards to branch sales goals
  • Direct reports may be assigned and may include retail business development staff and training
  • Creates and implements fun and unique ways to drive sales: including contests, promotions, and other activities.
  • Strategizes with business partners to drive referrals
  • Partners with branch leadership in providing business development support by way of training, leading by example, and setting reasonable expectations
  • Manages all Retail CX ensuring customers have a consistently unparalleled experience at all locations
  • Trains, mentors, and coaches’ staff to ensure customers receive a level of service that is unparalleled and solutions focused while balancing risk and the regulatory requirements of the bank
  • Will work with Retail staff and provide training, guidance, and feedback to aid in the achievement of goals
  • Will partner with Branch Managers on holding staff accountable for results-driven behaviors in the department 
  • Will design, implement, and continuously improve a solutions-based consultative sales training program for Retail annually
  • Will conduct periodic observations of customer service staff and provide meaningful coaching to employees and managers
  • Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality
  • All other duties as assigned by FVP, Retail

Requirements: 

  • 4-5 years of Management experience – preferably in the Retail Banking space
  • 4-5 years of experience in a sales environment with a solid track record 
  • 2-3 years of financial services experience
  • 2-3 years of training experience
  • Proven track record of implementing successful new sales programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Able to travel freely, without restriction, in Franklin & Hampshire counties (about 25% local travel)
