Fairview Range is looking for Security Officer for our security department in Hibbing, MN!
The Security Officer works to assure safety of patients, visitors and staff and property, works proactively to prevent theft and vandalism, responds to needs of hospital staff, offers assistance to those in need, provides excellent customer service, and takes direction from department supervisory/management staff. Work may involve high risk with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions. Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers and staff are critical. Physical interaction with such individuals requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.
Schedule: This position is part time, working 40 to 71 hours per pay period. This will include varying day/evening/night shifts, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
- Assures safety of patients, staff and visitors
- Responds quickly and effectively to all emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance.
- Provides visible deterrents to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling buildings and grounds.
- Makes critical decisions based on available information.
- Reports all safety hazards observed on patrols and inspections.
- Makes fire extinguisher and safety inspections as assigned.
- Conducts Crisis Intervention
- Prioritizes and responds to emergency situations.
- Uses appropriate measures to control situation.
- Helps manage out-of-control patients and visitors.
- Resolves conflict in a positive manner.
- Provides Security & Risk Reduction
- Complies clear, accurate incident reports
- Protects facility and ensures emergency access
- Patrol carefully and attentively
- Enforces policy and visitor restrictions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year security experience or
- 2 years customer service experience or Military Service
- Basic computer literacy
- International Assoc. for Hospital Safety and Security Certification (Basic or higher; no recertification on Basic Certification required) within 180 Days
- BCS
- CPR and First Aid training or First Responder
- Handcuffing and chemical agent training within 60 Days
- Taser training
- Incident Command (ICS) 100, 200, 700, 800, 906, 907 within 1 Year
Preferred Qualifications
- A.A./A.S. degree
- Hospital Security or Military Service
$19.04-$27.42 Hourly
