Summary:

The Mortgage Lending Senior Underwriter and Operations Manager (MLOM) is responsible for managing the full scope of operations for mortgage and home equity processing, underwriting, closing and post-closing. The incumbent will have the responsibility of leading the Mortgage Lending Operations Team in delivering outstanding customer experience while ensuring that production and credit risk standards are met.

MLOM has responsibility for underwriting secondary market loans, portfolio mortgage loans and HELOCs.

The MLOM will be the primary liaison with other areas of the bank; to include but not limited to Loan Servicing, Compliance, Commercial Lending and Retail Banking.

Essential Functions:

· Underwrites secondary market and portfolio mortgage loans, secondary underwriter for HELOCs.

· Supervises all aspects of the day-to-day mortgage operations.

· Provides technical training, development and coaching for operations staff on a consistent and ongoing basis.

· Communicates product guidelines updates, compliance requirements and operational changes to team in a timely manner.

· Works with teams to ensure that all functions, processes and procedures comply with state and federal laws along with investor and agency guidelines.

· Operates the FHLB Grant Programs for the bank and other third parties accessing the programs.

· Administers third party relationships, including but not limited to investors, USDA, HUD, VA, appraisal management and title companies.

· Manages the Lender Solutions relationship related to the secondary, closing, post-closing and compliance services provided to the bank.

· Oversee all aspects of pre-fund and post-close quality control reviews, responses and corrective action.

· Supervises internal/external audits and exams which include direct interaction with auditors, delivery of loan files and documentation, responses and action items.

· Acts as a back-up to processing as needed based on schedules, staffing and production levels.

Management of the Consumer Lending Operations team.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This position requires sitting at a computer station for extended periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time in-office position with some flexibility with schedule as agreed upon by the employee’s supervisor.

Travel:

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience:

· High School diploma, college degree preferred.

· 10+ years prior mortgage experience to include underwriting, processing and staff supervision

· Knowledge of Encompass (LOS) strongly preferred.

Work Authorization/ Security Clearance:

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
