JOB SUMMARY

The Event Service Manager is responsible for overseeing proper set-up and overall organization and cleanliness of event space within compliance of all health and safety regulations and company guidelines. The Event Service Manager will work closely with the Sales, Banquet, Beverage and Entertainment teams in planning, supervising and scheduling staff according to event schedules

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and provide proper training to Banquet houseman crew to ensure basic understanding of all standards and safe operation of required equipment.
  • Develop schedule for banquet houseman staff based on upcoming events.
  • Assist with set-ups as needed to ensure the department runs efficiently.
  • Ensure equipment is in full working order and report any defects;
  • Establish and maintain sufficient pars of required supplies.
  • Establish and monitor cleaning schedule of all event and pre-function space, including Back of House of Event Center ensuring the space always remains organized and presentable within established cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Anticipate and prepare equipment needs based on event orders
  • Assist back of house team when requested.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and decorators to ensure anything brought onto property is approved and meets all fire and safety codes
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous supervisory experience in event set-up / banquet service preferred including knowledge of Concert and Meeting Rooms Set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism;
  • Must possess strong organizational and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor areas as necessary
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Must have a professional appearance and be a team player.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including telephones and computers.
  • Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
