Job Summary:
Administers personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents in the senior care setting under the facility director and resident care manager. Reports pertinent observations of patient's physical and psychosocial status.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Drug Test Collector certification: Preferred
- Breath Alcohol Technician certification: Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Performs urine drug tests, hair screening tests, saliva drug testing, breath and saliva alcohol testing as appropriate and assigned. Reports any problems or unusual circumstances requiring immediate intervention to supervisor. Demonstrates timely and appropriate technical skills in accordance with Federal Regulations outlined in 49 CFR Part 40 and in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. Accurately completes drug and alcohol CCF (custody and control forms) as required by Federal Regulations outlined in 49 CFR Part 40.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining par levels of supplies and testing forms. Responsible for periodic required maintenance and calibration of testing equipment. Reports any malfunction of equipment to supervisor immediately. Schedules and logs testing appointments as appropriate. Arranges, in a timely manner, any needed drug and/or alcohol testing at offsite locations.
- Observes and participates in all regulations imposed by Federal, State and accrediting authorities. Performs periodic filing, database maintenance and other record keeping as needed. Compiles needed data for clients having state and/or federal inspections. Accurately completes billing charges on same date of service.
- Contacts DER (designated employer representative) for all questions, authorizations or results reporting. Reports test results to DER within reasonable time frame from time results are completed and/or received. All results must be reported within same working day.
- Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours collections/questions for post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing. Answers/returns all phone calls, e.g. clients, donors, laboratories in a timely fashion. Attends appropriate departmental meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
