We have recently started to grow into the grocery sales channel and can now be found in stores like Costco, The Fresh Market, Mariano’s, and Fresh Thyme.

The Spice House is looking for personable Spice Merchants (Retail Sales Associates) who know about and enjoy food & cooking, and have the ability to share this knowledge with our customers. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and strong customer service skills. Employees will be scheduled 2-4 shifts/week, typically between the hours of 9am-6pm, weekends included.  This is a permanent long-term non-seasonal position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service in a specialty food retail environment that supports revenue growth for our retail stores through product and sales passion
• Warmly welcome customers and assist them throughout their store visit
• Build rapport through conversation and honest recommendations about our spice products based around the customers preferences, needs and desires
• Complete customer orders through our POS and Web pickup system.
• Collaborate with fellow team members to keep the sales floor area and displays clean, organized, and restocked as directed by management
• Assist in maintaining the back stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year retail experience and/or relatable experience preferred
• Passion for food and flavor is a must!
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service - You genuinely like to connect with people!
• Ability to express oneself clearly and persuasively when connecting with customers and making sales
• Calm, professional and able to problem solve
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work weekends
• Willing to work between 8-20 hours per week, with varying shifts between 9am-6pm, weekends included

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt (Employees must adhere to the assigned work schedule and be at the assigned station in the store at the start of their shift)
