Silver Falls Capital is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Associate Controller to lead accounting operations across a growing portfolio of diversified manufacturing and SaaS businesses. This critical role manages the month-end close process, ensures financial accuracy, and drives compliance across entities with varying revenue models and operational complexity.

As a key leader within the Finance & Accounting team, the Associate Controller will shape a scalable, efficient controls environment that grows with our acquisition footprint. This includes developing and documenting standard operating procedures with a continuous improvement mindset.?This position plays a pivotal role in business reporting, financial planning, and cross-functional collaboration—focusing on delivering results rather than simply completing tasks. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with leadership skills, mentoring a high-performing team of business partners and problem solvers.

Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the accounting team, providing support and guidance while ensuring transactions are GAAP compliant, auditable, and in adherence to controls. 
  • Own and manage the full month end close process, with a focus on shortening timelines, improving accuracy, and ensuring reconciliations meet both internal and external reporting standards. 
  • Partner with tax and audit professionals across the portfolio to support year-end reporting and audit readiness. 
  • Implement and manage a unified accounting support model across the Silver Falls Capital portfolio.? 
  • Lead visual management initiatives to promote accountability, track metrics, and highlight team accomplishments or areas requiring immediate attention.? 
  • Maintain organized documentation for invoices, collections, payments, journal entries, and reconciliations.? 
  • Drive improvements in working capital metrics, including DSO, DPO, inventory turns (INVX), and the overall cash conversion cycle.? 
  • Review and approve customer and vendor onboarding, including credit terms and financial contract compliance. 
  • Oversee and proactively approach regulatory changes, filings and reporting requirements including but not limited to B&O, AvaTax Management, 1099’s etc. Ensuring consistent and thorough review processes that scale and adapt with new acquisitions.  
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, initiate ACH/wire payments, and ensure alignment with company-specific cash triggers.? 
  • Deliver bi-weekly profit and loss snapshots for each operating company, highlighting variances, reclassifications, and areas of improvement prior to formal month-end close. 
  • Lead continuous improvements in ERP and financial reporting systems, including system integrations and cross-entity unification.? 
  • Assist in the development of direct reports to aid in growth, capability building, and team achievement. 
  • Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.

  • Manage and develop Staff and Senior Accountants through the talent development process. Providing performance feedback, mentoring, and career path planning. 
  • Build a collaborative, resilient team culture with strong cross-functional support coverage and escalation readiness. 
  • Foster a culture of transparency, curiosity, and accountability across finance and operating teams.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting 
  • 5+ years of expanded scope of accounting experience 
  • At least two years of accounting team leadership or management. 
  • Background in manufacturing or SaaS based businesses. 
  • Advance knowledge of excel and database management. 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and data-driven decision making. 
  • Demonstrated track record of driving high volume transactions and process efficiencies. 

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA designation  
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills for presenting financial performance. 
  • Demonstrated working capital performance management. 
  • ERP system implementation and optimization experience. 
  • Familiarity with multi-entity accounting environments.  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Physical in office attendance required. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
