As the Lead Playcare Attendant, you’ll work directly with our pet guests while also guiding and supporting the playcare team to ensure smooth daily operations. This is an active, physical role that requires leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Support
    • Oversee daily operations in the playcare area, ensuring all tasks are completed to high standards.
    • Train, coach, and mentor team members on safe handling, sanitation, and guest care procedures.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress throughout the day.
    • Communicate important updates, guest needs, or changes in routines to staff and management.
    • Assist in onboarding new team members.

  • Guest Care & Facility Operations
    • Supervise and rotate dogs in and out of playgroups, ensuring safe, positive interactions.
    • Monitor playgroups to maintain a safe, fun environment for all dogs.
    • Check guests in and out, providing friendly and professional customer service.
    • Prepare meals and administer medications (including injections) per owner and veterinary instructions.
    • Maintain detailed notes in our software system (training provided).
    • Escort pets to the on-site veterinary clinic as needed.
  • Sanitation & Maintenance
    • Ensure suites are cleaned daily, including changing cat litter boxes
    • Keep play areas clean and sanitized throughout the day (yes—this includes lots of poop).
    • Complete laundry and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
    • Oversee that cleaning protocols are followed by all staff members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience working with dogs and cats preferred; leadership or supervisory experience strongly desired.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Comfort with PC-based software.
  • Commitment to handling all pets with patience, kindness, and safety.
