Description
The Conrad Company, a thriving family-owned business, is seeking a General Manager to lead our growing PennAir facility in York, PA. PennAir is a leading supplier of automation, pneumatic, and hydraulic products, and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, managing the effectiveness of people and processes, and taking ultimate responsibility for site performance and culture.
- Recruit, train, and continue to develop a high-performing workforce. Foster high employee engagement, where associates have the tools that they need to succeed and are aware of the critical role they play within the organization.
- Establish, monitor, and manage operational performance metrics (KPIs) that accurately represent the needs of customers, suppliers, and employees. Ensure that information is being communicated and used throughout the facility for sound decision-making.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing departments to drive top line growth. Partner with IT, Finance, HR, and others to obtain the necessary resources and support to keep site efficient and profitable.
- Guide direct reports to be effective leaders for their own teams. Identify and mentor future company leaders. Develop learning paths for associates’ growth.
- Develop an environment of continuous improvement, where positive change is the norm and employees are encouraged to share ideas. Be a force for high-quality, safe, and efficient work.
- Manage site budget – plan for necessary expenditures in facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet overall goals, and throughout the year, ensure budget is factored into decision-making.
- Manage Building, Grounds, Maintenance of facility

Requirements
- 15-20 years of experience as a Plant, Operations, or General Manager.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
- Experience managing workflow and/or inventory through an ERP system.
- Familiarity with industry safety and quality standards.
- Working knowledge of human-resources processes.
- Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or related field.
- Prior experience within a value-add distribution facility.
- Ability to build meaningful partnerships with suppliers. Review supplier contracts, assessing items such as annual purchasing requirements.
- Leadership of a facility with 50+ associates in various departments, including Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Engineering.
