JOB SUMMARY:
The supervisor is responsible for directing manufacturing operations and personnel on 2nd shift to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of product. They will analyze, develop and implement solutions to eliminate problems and manage capacity levels with the appropriate staffing. Proven people management, strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and computer skills are essential. The position reports to the director of operations.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs, supervises and coordinates the activities of the department to achieve company initiatives around stability, growth, up-time, and expansion.
- Provides training and development plans for the development of performance, efficiency, and product quality standards for the department.
- Monitors output, cycle times, routings, and quality indicators and oversees and participates in the resolution of problems or reinforcement of positive findings.
- Directly responsible for the coaching and mentoring of manufacturing employees. Frequently provides feedback on performance and plays an active role in their teams’ development. Utilizes the performance review system to set expectations for the manufacturing employees. Develops cross training plans where appropriate and monitors performance.
- Oversees and participates in the daily production operations through personal interaction with production employees, floor response to immediate problems, and regular counsel and guidance to the director of operations.
- Provides feedback to other departments, such as Production Control, Customer Service, Quality, Materials, and Engineering regarding problems or observations from production operations.
- Implements and follows Stylmark’s safety policies and procedures, including job hazard analysis, work rules and employee training.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the director of operations.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Four years familiarity and working exposure to metal fabrication, metal finishing and anodizing processes desirable; or manufacturing.
Two to three years’ management, supervisory or team lead experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to exchange ideas and convey information to employees accurately. Ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.

At least three quarters of workday is spent walking through and observing the production operations and meeting with support departments throughout the company.
