FLSA Status: Exempt/Full-time
Compensation: $19.00 to $22.00 hour
Location/Travel: In-person -- based out of the corporate office in San Antonio
Job Summary:
The Billing Support Specialist at Empower Behavioral Health (EBH) is a key member of the billing department. This individual is responsible for supporting the billing team in various duties and tasks.
This role will be working in a fast-paced, growing organization. This position is focused on the ever-growing needs of the EBH billing team in line with the EBH standard of patient care. This position will rely heavily on communication and multi-tasking abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in benefit verifications
- Reconciling patient and insurance payments
- Posting patient and insurance payments
- Assist with answering phones
- Organizing team meetings and functions
- Creating new patient charts
- Assisting with clinic connection issues within Central Reach
- Working in Insurance portals such as Availity, United Healthcare and Evernorth
- Generating and submitting claims weekly
- Distributing Faxes & Mail
- Assisting in Denial Management/Account Receivable
- Various other tasks for the department

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Must have at least 1 year of Medical Billing Experience
- Must be able to read and understand EOBs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Perform multiple high-priority tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills and handling with incoming/outgoing calls
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
