Job Summary

Under general supervision, skillfully operate a variety of heavy-duty grounds maintenance equipment; perform complex grounds maintenance and gardening functions and activities; and do other related work as required.

Required Documents

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Experience: One year of experience in the operation of large grounds equipment, tractors, trucks, and large power mowers used in performing grounds maintenance or gardening work. REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid and appropriate California driver's license; qualify for insurability with the District's insurance carrier. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Strength: Heavy work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate equipment and to perform strenuous manual labor; ability to bend, stoop, grasp, and reach. Working Conditions: Ability to work around plants, shrubs, and ground covers without allergic reaction. May be required to mix and apply herbicides, pesticides, and weed abatement chemicals. Work out-of doors during inclement weather conditions. Pre-placement Physical: Class II

Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIRED EXAMINATION will be administered on Tuesday, August12, 2025, at 9:00 A.M, located at the Redlands Unified School District, 20 West Lugonia Avenue, Redlands. Testing time is approximately 2 hours. NO FURTHER NOTICE WILL BE GIVEN. Disabled applicants may request reasonable accommodation in regard to testing procedures. Please do so prior to the closing date. Photo identification will be required at test site. You must apply for the position to take the examination. Outside applicants, please be advised that test scores are kept on file for one (1) year.
