Job Summary

Morgan Hill Unified School District is seeking elementary visual and performing arts teachers for the ‘25-’26 school year. Teachers will develop students’ arts appreciation and skills via standards based instruction for grades TK-5. Lessons may include a focus on dance, media arts, music, theater, visual arts, or a combination of the arts disciplines.

Requirements / Qualifications

Appropriate California Single Subject: Dance or Theater or California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with Supplementary Authorization in Dance or Theatre or CTE in Arts, Media, Entertainment with experience in Dance or Theater Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 Letters of Recommendation) Resume

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, organize, and implement lesson plans in alignment with the California State Arts Standards for Public Schools Differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and student body Establish clear objectives and clearly communicate expectations to students Maintain a classroom climate of trust and mutual respect Monitor student activities to provide a safe and engaging learning environment Attend weekly meetings with other elementary visual and performing arts teachers Collaborate with site and cross-district teams to support student learning Communicate with site administrators, teachers, and school community regarding the goals and progress of the program Attend training and professional development as directed to deepen content knowledge and understanding of best practices Morgan Hill Unified participates and supports the Santa Cruz/Silicon Valley New Teacher Project induction program. MHUSD will grant up to 14 years of previous accredited school experience upon employment verification.
