Duties
You will disassemble, repair, assemble, modify, measure, and/or check, as required, to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies.,You will perform a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components.,You will work with plastics and various metals and apply knowledge of basic level shop mathematics.,You will work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded mechanic.

The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Examples of this Screen-out element are: 1) Knowledge of equipment, structures and materials (includes constructing, repair and forging); 2) Performing a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout, and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components; 3) Using hand power tools (drills, rivet, guns, routers, etc.), and metal working hand tools (snips, punches, files, plier, hammers, mallets, etc.) and/or working with hand or power press brakes, shears, shrinking and stretching tools, hydraulic presses, sanders or machines in the process or repairing, manufacturing or modifying aircraft or aircraft engine assemblies or parts; 4) Applying knowledge of basic level shop mathematics to calculate and scribe patterns and apply principles of parallel or radial line development and triangulation. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to rotating shifts and overtime, as necessary.
