Are you the kind of person who can calmly clean up cat puke while giving the dog next to you a pep talk and helping a nervous client feel like everything’s going to be okay? Cool — you’ll fit right in.
We’re hiring a Veterinary Technician or Assistant — and we’re open to credentialed techs or kind, curious, capable humans who are ready to train and grow in the field. Whether you’ve got your LVT/CVT/RVT already or you’re just starting out and want to learn from some of the best — we want to meet you.
A bit about us:
We’re Androscoggin Animal Hospital, a 9-doctor, AAHA-accredited, small animal practice in Topsham, Maine. We treat cats, dogs, and exotics (think chinchillas, lizards, and the occasional diva rabbit). We practice high-quality medicine, use Fear Free techniques, and genuinely like each other — which sounds small, but it’s kind of a big deal in vet med.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are credentialed or have experience and are hungry to learn more
- Don’t mind getting your hands (and scrubs) dirty
- Can juggle multiple tasks without combusting
- Want to grow in a hospital where techs and assistants are valued, supported, and trained to succeed
- Think working with exotics sounds kinda fun (or at least intriguing)
- Can laugh at a bad pun while still taking patient care seriously
What you’ll do:
- Assist with surgeries, treatments, appointments, and snuggling anxious pets
- Learn new skills — or use the ones you already have to the fullest
- Support our doctors, clients, and your fellow techs/assistants like a true team player
- Rotate through weekends, but still have a life outside the hospital (promise)
