BayCare Clinic Neurological Surgeons is looking for a Workers Compensation Coordinator to join our team in Green Bay. We’re looking for a compassionate, thoughtful candidate who wants to contribute to a positive experience for all our patients. The typical hours for this role are Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. No Holidays! No Weekends!

The Practice:
Our brain, spine and nerve specialists are part of the most comprehensive neurological surgery team in northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Our neurosurgeons work with a team of specialists to offer comprehensive care for conditions of the brain, spine and nerves. We take pride in being the region’s longest-practicing neurological surgery team, combining more than 120 years of experience with innovative medical technology. Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay is the first certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. That certification recognizes the most advanced stroke treatment available and the stroke center’s ability to provide the highest level of care for stroke patients.

The Job:
- Identifies needs of individual employers through on-site visits; cultivating personalized relationships with Human Resources, Risk Management, Quality Management and other key areas involved in prevention and the injured employee experience.
- Is a primary point of contact on Worker’s Compensation processes for physicians, clinical staff, management, and administrative staff.
- Provides guidance and training as needed throughout the Clinic.
- Coordinates and facilitates processes that follow outcome-based protocols as developed by physician and nursing staff. All points of care are aligned with the same outcome-based vision and communicated at every point of contact (clinical staff, employer reps, patient family, etc).
- Follows precise, process-focused communication that ensures continuity of care; creating a patient experience that promotes recovery and return to work and lifestyle.
- Clinical outcomes tracking.
- Creates a value chain in the community that identifies this position as the prime resource for a successful work comp experience for the employee, employer, and healthcare provider.
- Works with client to develop a comprehensive plan of care that includes interventions and treatments designed to enhance client outcome and reduce payer liability.
- Obtains orders or implements interventions or treatments for the plan of care.
- Integrates quality, safety, effectiveness, and cost effectiveness in evaluating client progress and in attaining expected outcomes.
- Assists in developing criteria and evaluating the quality of care and effectiveness of case management services.
- Serves as a leader and role model for the professional development of peers, colleagues and others. Creates interdisciplinary relationships that are collaborative, proactive & client-focused, which facilitate and maximize client outcomes.
- Conducts concurrent and retrospective clinical reviews for the purposes of determining high quality and cost-effective care.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
- Works in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner at all times.
The Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin.
- Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse (through ABOHN) preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical nursing practice, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree program in nursing. Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through three years of clinical nursing experience in a medical/surgical, critical care, or occupational health environment.
- Demonstrated success in a progressive role administratively as well as in facilitation.
- Quality improvement experience preferred.
- Experience in implementing safety & prevention practices required.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
