What You’ll Do
As a Gross Technician, you will support the pathology department under the direction of our leadership team, including the CPG Medical Director, Pathologists’ Assistant Supervisor, and staff pathologists. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Gross description and complete dissection of all assigned simple and routine surgical specimens
- Assisting in frozen section services for routine specimens
- Supporting specialized procedures or projects as assigned by pathologists
- Reviewing patient EMRs to determine appropriate handling of surgical specimens
- Maintaining effective communication with Pathology and hospital staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Managing gross room operations, including supplies, specimen organization, and cleanliness
- Maintaining a professional, cooperative presence in the workplace
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences or medical laboratory technology – Required
Experience
- 1+ year in anatomic pathology or clinical laboratory specimen processing – Preferred
