ROLE OVERVIEW:
Great Hearts Texas (GHTX) is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Data Specialist to join their team. The role will focus on maintaining HR data to ensure data accuracy across HR systems. This role will oversee the management, reporting, and analysis of employee data and play a key role in system administration and enhancements—particularly within Workday or similar Human Capital Management (HCM) systems. The role also supports compliance with state-level reporting requirements to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate data entry, maintenance, and integrity of employee data within HR systems, with a strong emphasis on Workday and PowerSchool.
Partner with HR, Finance/Payroll, Operations and IT teams to improve data processes, systems integration, and workflows.
Ensure staff and related HR data is accurately entered into student and staff data reporting systems for Texas Education Agency (TEA) reporting (e.g., via TSDS, PEIMS).
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet TEA reporting deadlines and resolve data discrepancies related to HR fields.
Perform audits of HR data in authority systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
Assist in compliance reporting and regulatory filings.
Maintain confidentiality and security of employee data.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience working with HR data or in an HRIS/HR operations role.
2+ years of experience in data entry & management
Experience with Workday highly preferred.
Familiarity with TEA reporting systems (TSDS, PEIMS) and staff data requirements preferred.
Proficiency in Excel preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-directed and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative and follow-through.
Demonstrated commitment to GHTX mission.
Ability to model GHTX values at all times.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a K–12 or education-related organization.
Knowledge of TEA staff data standards and state/federal HR compliance.
Project management experience related to HR system implementation or upgrades.

Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprinted and checked pursuant to TxDPS laws and regulations.
Physical functions:
Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 75% of the time.
May occasionally move around the campus 25%-50% of the time.
Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected.
Work Environment: May be required to move or position equipment up to 10-15 pounds.
Travel required: Must have the ability to travel locally to the various academies within the San Antonio and North Texas metro area.
