A Day in the Life

The Sr Servicing & Loan Sales Specialist is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the sold loan servicing function and the operational strategy and execution of secondary loan sales. This role ensures the efficient, compliant, and tech-driven servicing of a diverse commercial loan portfolio—including participated and sold loans—and leads initiatives to monetize assets through whole loan sales, participations, and securitizations.

As a key executive at a technology-enabled, non-bank lender, the VP will work cross-functionally with capital markets, technology, finance, compliance, legal, and product teams to enhance the servicing platform, drive automation, and maximize loan sale execution and post-sale obligations.

What You’ll Be Doing 

Servicing Leadership

• Oversee the end-to-end sold loan servicing lifecycle for, including onboarding, billing, payment processing, escrow administration, customer service, covenant tracking, and payoffs.

• Manage the unique operational and reporting requirements related to sold loans, including remittance schedules, data reconciliation, investor reporting, and repurchase risk management.

• Lead servicing process optimization and automation through close collaboration with technology and product teams.

• Ensure strong internal controls, compliance with servicing policies, and adherence to federal/state regulations and investor guidelines.

• Establish servicing SLAs, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to drive performance and transparency across both retained and sold loan portfolios.

• Manage relationships with third-party servicers, if applicable, and evaluate insourcing/outsourcing strategies.

Loan Sales Strategy

• Develop and execute the loan sale strategy aligned with company goals, including sale of originated loans to investors, CDFIs, banks, and secondary market participants.

• Partner with capital markets to structure offerings, prepare data tapes, and respond to investor due diligence.

• Oversee post-sale operations including remittance, repurchase risk mitigation, reporting, and loan boarding support.

• Ensure complete and accurate data transfer during asset sales and work with internal teams to transfer and resolve exceptions.

• Represent servicing and operational interests in investor negotiations, investor reporting, and portfolio sale structuring.

Team and Organizational Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of servicing professionals and analysts.

• Champion a service-oriented and data-driven culture within the servicing and loan sales functions.

• Collaborate with other department heads to align servicing and loan sales with enterprise-wide initiatives and borrower experience strategies.

• Drive continuous improvement in servicing workflows, systems, and borrower communications.

 

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

• 10+ years of experience in commercial loan servicing, capital markets, or asset sales, preferably in a fintech or non-bank lending environment.

• Deep understanding of loan servicing platforms (e.g., NLS, LoanIQ, or similar), APIs, and data flow in tech-enabled environments.

• Proven experience leading loan sales or participation efforts from pricing through post-close servicing.

• Strong knowledge of applicable servicing compliance and investor reporting requirements, including sold loan obligations.

• Excellent leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and experience with servicing and sales KPIs and dashboards.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Experience with cloud-based loan management systems and servicing automation.

• Familiarity with SBA, CDFI, or impact lending programs.

• Background working with structured finance, loan syndications, or warehouse lines.

• Strong understanding of data governance, reconciliation, and servicing accuracy requirements in sold portfolios.

COMPENSATION RANGE

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000-$141,000 annually.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for new hires for the position.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors like job-related skills, experience, and state of residence.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the interview process.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting (approximately 95%), repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  It also may require occasional standing, lifting, carrying of 20lbs or less, walking, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above the shoulder.  Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
