Trevor Day School is seeking candidates for a Long-Term Substitute Teacher in the Upper School for the 2025-26 academic year. The position will initially be a full-time leave replacement for the month of September, teaching an introductory economics course in the History Department. Then, the position will be called upon as needed to fill in for teachers in various departments. Candidates should have a strong interest in working with a diverse student body and colleagues in an open and collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, as well as teaching experience.
Experience using technology to enhance classroom learning.
Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on lesson planning and innovative curriculum development.
Proven ability to form strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Familiarity with differentiated instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Growth mindset and passion for learning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility, creativity, patience, and a sense of humor.
Substitute teachers receive a standard rate of $175 per day.
