Overview:

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a LAN/WAN Administrator to work onsite in Columbus, OH. This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance and focuses on maintaining and administering critical network infrastructure supporting the Department of Public Safety and associated agencies.

As a LAN/WAN Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of network hardware and telecommunication systems that support multiple public safety and government agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, configure, upgrade, and administer network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve network and system issues for the Department of Public Safety (DPS), Automated Title Processing System (ATPS), Deputy Registrar (DR) agencies, Driver License Examination (DX) Stations, and Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC).

  • Administer agency telecommunication circuit moves, adds, and changes.

  • Review and monitor enterprise security systems; respond to alarms and alerts in accordance with policy and procedures.

  • Work directly with vendors to resolve user issues related to DPS networks, systems, or applications.

  • Wipe configuration of end-of-life network equipment and prepare hardware for salvage.

  • Create, organize, file, and maintain detailed documentation related to network configurations and maintenance activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network hardware installation, maintenance, and administration.

  • Proven experience diagnosing and resolving network issues across multiple agencies or departments.

  • Experience administering telecommunication circuit changes and moves.

  • Familiarity with enterprise security system monitoring and incident response.

  • Strong documentation skills to maintain organized and accurate records.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.

  • Experience working within government or public safety network environments.

  • Knowledge of specific agency systems such as DPS, ATPS, DR, DX Stations, or ONIC networks.

  • Hands-on experience preparing hardware for salvage and end-of-life processes.

  • Familiarity with security policies and procedures related to government networks.
