About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Preauthorization Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry at Oregon Advanced Imaging, Medford, Oregon. This is not a remote position but in-person only! As a Preauthorization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all preauthorization requirements are met for our patients. You will work closely with our medical staff to ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained and submitted promptly. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in this role. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facility and the well-being of our patients. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare preauthorization
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some experience in the medical field is preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Certification in medical billing and coding
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and verify insurance preauthorization for medical procedures and services
- Communicate with medical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is obtained
- Submit preauthorization requests in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of preauthorization requests and approvals
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
Skills:
As a Preauthorization Specialist, you will utilize your knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures to obtain and verify insurance preauthorization for medical procedures and services. Your strong attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate records of preauthorization requests and approvals. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively communicate with medical staff and collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. Additionally, your experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and certification in medical billing and coding will be beneficial in this role.
