Job Title: Castings Shipping

Department: Shipping & Receiving
Reports To: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Hours: Full Time; Monday – Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm; Overtime Required
Location: Baker Manufacturing – Castings Division

Shipping & Receiving Job Summary:

The Casting Shipping Technician is responsible for accurately receiving cast parts into stock, packaging them according to customer specifications, verifying product quality, and completing all required documentation in accordance with company procedures and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, have prior experience with Epicor, and demonstrate proficiency in basic math and computer skills.

Shipping & Receiving Key Responsibilities:

• Review job travelers to verify that all required operations have been completed prior to receiving parts into stock.
• Use Epicor system (Job Tracker and Casting Shipment DB) to confirm operation sequence completion and packaging instructions.
• Fill out and affix BF039 Packaging Verification Labels on containers.
• Package castings following specific customer requirements and instructions.
• Weigh and count parts, record package quantity, piece weight, and total weight.
• Perform basic visual inspection for defects and verify part quality.
• Label containers with customer address labels, California Prop 65 labels, and serial/bin information as needed.
• Use scales and other basic tools to ensure accurate counts and package verification.
• Accurately receive completed parts into stock in Epicor (Job Receipt to Inventory) and physically place them in the assigned bin location.
• Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
• Follow safety and company policies at all times.

• BF039 Packaging Verification Labels
• Scales (for weighing parts)
• Desktop tools for shipping label generation
• Standard packaging materials and labeling supplies

Shipping & Receiving Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year experience in shipping, receiving, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP software (Epicor experience a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
• Good communication and organizational skills

Shipping & Receiving Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching
• Ability to operate packaging tools and scales

Shipping & Receiving Work Environment:

• Manufacturing and warehouse setting
• Exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment
• Requires wearing appropriate PPE, including safety glasses and gloves
