About the Department
The purpose of this position is to perform entry-level duties to assist in the processing of voter registration applications and forms. Work is performed under the immediate supervision and guidance of a Registration & Elections Supervisor for the assigned area.
Position Duties
Coordinates and provides administrative/clerical support for elections and registration: processes a variety of documentation associated with elections operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures; works with and provides guidance and assistance to administrative/clerical staff assigned to divisions or work units within the department to ensure uniform and cooperative work efforts; and maintains confidentiality of departmental documentation and issues.
Position ensures that evidence is audited and retained as required by Georgia Law and SEB Rules and Regulations.
Assists with presentations and projects as assigned by elections leadership team.
Performs customer service functions; provides information/assistance regarding elections services, activities, procedures, fees, or other issues; distributes forms/documentation as requested; responds to routine questions or complaints; researches problems/complaints and initiates problem resolution.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with elections within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receives, reviews, records, types, and/or distributes documentation; enters data into computer systems; logs, tracks, or maintains records regarding department activities; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; files, maintains, and stores hardcopy records.
Performs data entry functions by keying data into computer system; enters, retrieves, reviews or modifies data in computer database; scans documents into computer; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; indexes documents; develops databases and computerized reports. Types/sends e-mail messages; screens incoming e-mail messages.
Assists the Election’s Warehouse in regards to voting equipment and election supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by three years of administrative experience or customer service.
Other Qualifications
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
