Hybrid LIFEGUARD bei The Yale Club of New York City

The Yale Club of New York City, a prestigious private membership organization, is seeking a qualified and professional Lifeguard to join our Athletics Department. The Lifeguard will ensure the safety of members and their guests in the Club’s pool area, maintain a welcoming environment, and uphold the highest standards of service, professionalism, and safety in accordance with state and local regulations.

• Supervise the pool area at all times to ensure the safety of swimmers and spectators.
• Enforce all pool rules and Club policies courteously and professionally.
• Perform water rescues, provide First Aid, and administer CPR/AED as needed.
• Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area, including water chemistry testing and equipment inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free pool deck and surrounding areas.
• Greet members and guests warmly, providing assistance and information as needed.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions promptly to management.
• Participate in required in-service training and maintain all certifications in good standing.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (or equivalent).
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Prior lifeguarding experience in a private club, hospitality, or fitness facility preferred.
• Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and ability to remain alert and focused.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional member service.
• Professional appearance and demeanor in keeping with the Yale Club’s standards.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Indoor pool facility within a private club setting.
• Variable schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays as required.
• Position requires standing for extended periods and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
